Upgrade to New Facebook & Instagram Extractors

We’re deprecating older Facebook and Instagram extractors in favor of their new, faster Python-based versions—effective October 27, 2025.

Upgrade to New Facebook & Instagram Extractors

We’d like to inform you that the below listed legacy extractors will be deprecated on October 27th, 2025:

What does this mean?

  • You will no longer be able to create new configurations using the deprecated components after this date.
  • Existing configurations will remain functional and can still be executed, so your current pipelines won't be disrupted.

Why the change?

These older components were originally developed implemented in Clojure, while the new generation of Facebook and Instagram extractors is developed in Python. This shift allows us to:

  • Offer better performance and faster extraction times.
  • Improve long-term supportability and maintainability.

What should you do?

We recommend migrating your configurations to the new generation of extractors:

You can choose one of the following migration options:

Option 1: Use the Migration Component

The Migration Component (keboola.app-configuration-migration-tool) simplifies the process, especially for multiple configurations.

  • Before deprecation: Create and run a configuration in the migration component to migrate all configurations of a selected extractor.
  • After deprecation: A migration button will appear next to the deprecated component. Clicking it will trigger the same process in the background.

Note: Authorization is not migrated. You must reauthorize each configuration after migration.

The tool will automatically assign the same output bucket as in your original configuration, so your data pipelines remain uninterrupted.

Option 2: Manual migration

You can also migrate manually by:

  1. Copying your existing configuration to the new component.
  2. Reauthorizing the connection.

This method is straightforward for projects with fewer configurations.
