Kai is Now Generally Available (Multi-Tenant, Contracted Customers)
This post covers what GA means if you're on a multi-tenant, contracted plan.
Kai is officially leaving beta. It's the foundation for what we're building next, and we're not slowing down on new capabilities from here.
Kai is generally available starting today, September 15, 2026. This mainly affects Multi-Tenant Contracted customers, here's what applies to you depending on your plan:
If you're not sure which of these you are, reach out to support or ask your Customer Success Manager.
What's new on GA day:
Setting and adjusting Kai's spend limits is an Organization Admin responsibility. If that's you, the details below are yours to act on. If you're not an Org Admin, you don't need to do anything, but it's worth knowing who on your team does.
- Spend control in project settings — org admins set project-wide and per-user monthly PPU limits from Settings → Kai Agent
- Projects have default spend — 300 PPU per project, per month, by default. Review and adjust any time.
- 80% warning — When a project hits 80% of its limit, everyone in the project sees a notice in the chat. If a personal limit is hit, user see their own notice.
- Limit reached state — at 100%, Kai pauses with a clear message and the reset date.
- Email alerts — Org Admins get notified at the 80% and 100% thresholds.
- No more message counter — the old "X/150 messages" meter is replaced by the PPU-based system.
Setting users and projects limits
You can set a monthly PPU limit per project at any time in Settings → Kai Agent. Kai will warn you at 80% usage, and once the limit is reached it stops responding until the next billing cycle or until you raise the limit.
Email alerts go out at both thresholds so nothing catches you off guard.

Get more out of Kai
Kai now runs on Claude Opus 4.8 and has held 97.85% reliability over the last 90 days. Your spend limits go further when Kai gets things right on the first try. A few ways to customize it for your business:
- Plan Mode — for bigger requests like creating a connection or for complex transformations, Kai drafts a plan and waits for your approval before touching anything.
- Context files — give Kai permanent knowledge of your naming conventions and business glossary, so nobody has to re-explain it every chat.
- Skill files — save a playbook once, call it from
/whenever you need it. For example save your company dashboard style and colours in skill and the whole team can use it.
