Fully Isolated Storage for Dev Branches (Snowflake Only)
Branched storage is now available for development branches in Snowflake projects—bringing complete isolation from production environments.
Development branches in Keboola just became safer and more powerful—if you're using the Snowflake backend. The new branched storage feature ensures complete separation of your development work from production data.
What’s new:
- Full Isolation: Each dev branch writes to its own dedicated storage layer.
- No Data Duplication: Data is only materialized in the branch when accessed or modified.
- Transparent Behavior: You can still read from production tables unless a branch version exists.
- Safer Deployments: Only one branch can be promoted to production at a time to avoid conflicts.
This new setup appears directly in the UI under your project configurations, making it easier to manage development workflows.
Availability:
- Available via feature toggle in Project Settings for Snowflake projects.
- BigQuery projects are not supported yet.
With branched storage, you can develop confidently—knowing your production environment remains untouched.
