New pricing arrives alongside this new more powerful version. Compare Streamlit and Python/JS credit spend, Python/JS uses different PPUs than Streamlit. Applies from October 15.
Try the new version of Apps early
Starting October 1, you can switch to the faster version of Apps. Your app is prepared while it sleeps, so it wakes up several times faster.
To switch it on, email support. We'd love you to test it early and tell us what you think. From October 15, it becomes the standard for everyone, with no action needed on your side.
What else is in this update:
- Simpler setup. You no longer need to manually grant the app storage access.
- Building with Kai is easier than before. Describe what you want and Kai builds a live draft you can preview and refine before deploying. No GitHub account needed to get started.
- A handful of bug fixes. This version is more stable overall.
- A clearer app library view. See real-time status, Running, Sleeping, Failed to start, or Not deployed, at a glance, plus who last edited each app.
Streamlit is not going anywhere
Streamlit Apps are still supported and are not going away. Existing apps keep working. Python/JS is just now the primary direction with new features.
